Special rule for bankruptcy court appeals

Please note that unlike an appeal from a district court, an appeal from a bankruptcy judge must be filed within fourteen days from the entry of the order appealed from. It used to be ten days but it changed to fourteen days on December 1, 2009. The date of entry is the date the order is officially entered on the court docket sheet. If you have just now received a copy of the order in the mail the ten days may be passed or may pass soon.
